Equipment
Although the school provides uniforms and some types of equipment, each sport will have different requirements for students to bring their own proper equipment or attire. Contact coaches if you need information of what equipment or attire students will need to bring to play a sport.
User Fee
Each student pays a user fee at the beginning of the athletic season. This fee needs to be paid before the first game or student cannot participate. There are waivers available to kids on free and reduced lunch. If a student is on reduced lunch half the fee is required. If the student is on free lunch then the fee is waived. Below is the fee schedule for each sport.

User Fee Cap
There is a family cap of 300$. Once a family has reached this cap all fees are waived for members of that family participating in athletics.
Starting dates for each season
The fall season always starts as early as the second Thursday preceding Labor Day (i.e., August 25, 2005. Football starts three days prior to this date (August 22,2005)
The Winter season begins the Monday following Thanksgiving.
The Spring season begins the third Monday in March
Middle school teams for the fall season start during the first week of school. If a middle school student played on a Varsity or Junior Varsity team the season prior then they may begin on the starting dates mentioned above.
Team selection process
Each individual sport may require a limit of number of students participating in that program or team. Students will be informed at beginning of season if there is a limit. All sports require a minimum number of participants in order for the school to field a team.
Physical Exam
All students must pass a physical examination within 13 months of the start of each season. Students who meet this criteria at the start of the season will remain eligible for that season. Physical examinations must be performed by a duly registered Physician, Physicians Assistant or Nurse Practioner. Penalty: A student in violation shall be suspended for the number of contests in which he/she participated without a proper physical. IF YOUR PERSONAL PHYSICIAN PERFORMS THE PHYSICAL A COPY MUST BE ON FILE AT MOHAWK WITH THE SCHOOL NURSE.
Athletic Contract
Students and parents must sign our Athletic Contract before they can participate. The contract is on our website and in the main office at Mohawk.

Directions to schools
The Athletic office has directions as well as the front office. The best and easiest way to get directions to away sites is to go to the Mohawk website or highschoolsports.net. Scroll down and go to “Select by Team” fill in team info and year then click on “View Schedule”. The schedule will come up. Under “opponent” click on school, which is highlighted in blue, where game is being played. This will give you directions to site via mapquest.
Late Bus for Athletics
A late bus leaves Mohawk at 5:30 Monday through Friday. Information on drop off points is available through central office by contacting Douglas Mollison.
Game cancellation and Postponements
If school is cancelled then games are also cancelled for that day. Other reasons for games being cancelled or rescheduled are weather; busing issues, school issues which can come up at last minute etc. All cancellations and postponements are updated and found on the schedule on school website or on highschoolsports.net.
