The Contingency Planning Team consists of administrators, school committee members, town officials, parents and others. The group is charged with the development of a scoring tool which will be used to objectively evaluate possible school closure scenarios. The tool will measure the financial, educational, transportation and legal aspects of every possible scenario in a manner which relies heavily on data.
Once the tool is finalized the committee will examine each proposal from the viewpoints of population data, financial savings, class size and educational enhancement, transportation effects and numerous other variables. Recommendations for specific school closing scenarios, if necessary, will be presented to the Superintendent for his review and recommendation to the School Committee.
